After the Doctor botched the execution of Missy, why didn't he place her in stasis to eliminate any danger of her escaping or doing any harm?

in stasis to eliminate any danger of her escaping or doing any harm?
He wanted to reform her. That was _why_ he sabotaged the execution in
the first place. There would be no point sabotaging it if he was just
going to keep her unreformable in stasis.

Reasons for the Doctor to go back and look for Missy

I: Hoping against hope that Missy can still be reformed. The Doctor would have hope that Missy decided at the last second to become good, and try to break free of the Master. He would therefore look for her near the Floor 507 elevator, and then go down to Floor 1056 where the Master said his TARDIS was.

II: His Oath to guard Missy for 1,000 years would obligate him to look for her, alive or dead.

Do you who to look for?

Try again: Do you know who to look for?
Scan the Mondasian colony ship for Time Lord DNA, staring on Floor 507.
Also scan for signs of recent regenerations.
Those could be masked.
Also scan for TARDISes and the energy signatures of materializations and dematerializations?
Hence the MAster would have been picked up.

Try again: Do you know who to look for?
Scan the Mondasian colony ship for Time Lord DNA, staring on Floor 507.
The 'fllors' are a ship with a planetfall.
How would that block the DNA scanners?
How thick is the shielding?
Materialize the TARDIS directly at Floor 507.
To know where the floor is located first.
Just materialize in any large space, then check the ceiling and elevator
to determine the floor number. If its wrong, hop to another large space
and repeat.
A 1000 times?
If the floor number > 507, aim the TARDIS up. If floor number < 507, aim the TARDIS down.

Why do the floor numbers go down as one goes up?

The Event Horizon of the Black Hole

A black hole is therefore bounded by a well-defined surface or
edge known as the "event horizon", within which nothing can be
seen and nothing can escape, because the necessary escape
velocity would equal or exceed the speed of light (a physical
impossibility). The event horizon acts like a kind of one-way
membrane, similar to the "point-of-no-return" a boat
experiences when approaching a whirlpool and reaching the point
where it is no longer possible to navigate against the flow.
Or, to look at it in a different way, within the event horizon,
space itself is falling into the black hole at a notional speed
greater than the speed of light.

<http://www.physicsoftheuniverse.com/topics_blackholes_event.html>

... but as always, Yad's braindead response has absolutely nothing to
do with the question.

The real reason the "floor numbers go down as one goes up" is simply
because the bridge level, being the most important area, is usually
level 1 (or sometimes 0).

"slowest"?? .... It's all part of one ship, so all connected together.
Or are you suggesting the ship is stretching out as it travels along??

Note:- I do not recall any mention of the ship traveling into a Black

The top of the ship is practically grazing the event horizon of a black hole, so time is very slow there.

Why hasn't the ship been pulverized by the debris thats being sucked into the black hole?

Just materialize in any large space, then check the ceiling and
elevator to determine the floor number. If it's wrong, hop to
another large space and repeat.
A 1000 times?
If the floor number > 507, aim the TARDIS up. If floor number <
507, aim the TARDIS down.
Why do the floor numbers go down as one goes up?
Depends how near you are to the event horizon.
What "Event Horizon", idiot??
<http://www.physicsoftheuniverse.com/topics_blackholes_event.html>
... but as always, Yad's braindead response has absolutely nothing to
do with the question.
The real reason the "floor numbers go down as one goes up" is simply
because the bridge level, being the most important area, is usually
level 1 (or sometimes 0).
And is the slowest.
"slowest"?? .... It's all part of one ship, so all connected together.
Or are you suggesting the ship is stretching out as it travels along??
Note:- I do not recall any mention of the ship traveling into a Black
Hole in the show, but I may have missed that!!
The top of the ship is practically grazing the event horizon of a black
hole, so time is very slow there.
Why hasn't the ship been pulverized by the debris thats being sucked into the black hole?
Advanced shielding that was given by the master.

Why do the floor numbers go down as one goes up?
They appear to be numbered from bow to stern - lowest numbers at the
bow; highest numbers at the stern.

But the ship's artificial gravity pulls everything toward the stern.

But the Doctor will still be obligated by his Oath to recapture Missy,
dead or alive!
Do you who to look for?
???
Try again: Do you know who to look for?
Scan the Mondasian colony ship for Time Lord DNA, staring on Floor 507.
The Doctor has no idea that Missy is still on the ship. The last time he
saw her, she was heading off to escape with the Master in his TARDIS. As
far as the Doctor knows, his best hope of finding her is just to explore
the universe, keeping one eye out for any signs of her.

But the Doctor would be quite capable of HOPING that Missy had a last second change of hearts and tried to break free of the Master. Such would seem to be in his character, considering his relationship with her this year! I would therefore expect him to search Floor 507 near the elevator. If he doesn't find her, he would proceed to Floor 1056 to look for the Master's TARDIS. If he doesn't find it, he would start to search the rest of the universe.

I consider it quite possible that the Doctor WILL find Missy...the one the Master just regenerated into! He would then lock her up until her sentence is complete, then wipe her memory and plant in her the thoughts of setting up the Nethersphere and turning Earth's dead into Cybermen.

I doubt the above.

After the Doctor botched the execution of Missy, why didn't he place her
in stasis to eliminate any danger of her escaping or doing any harm?
He wanted to reform her. That was _why_ he sabotaged the execution in
the first place. There would be no point sabotaging it if he was just
going to keep her unreformable in stasis.
Point well taken.

Because he's a stupid demented old fool.

I bet that this same factor will lead the Doctor to search for Missy during the forthcoming season!
