Oh, I'd say a good, solid 5 stars. It was fun.

Well, that was definitely a plus, but mainly I just enjoyed bringing all

As I've been saying, 19 out of 5.

The coolest thing about the concept of this episode is this little
exchange from the first time we ever saw Davros, back in "Genesis of the
Daleks":

Doctor: "Davros, if you had created a virus in your laboratory.
Something contagious and infectious that killed on contact.
A virus that would destroy all other forms of life... would
you allow its use?"

Davros: "It is an interesting conjecture."

Doctor: "Would you do it?"

Davros: "The only living thing... the microscopic organism... reigning
supreme... A fascinating idea."

Doctor: "But would you do it?"

Davros: "Yes. Yes! To hold in my hand, a capsule that contained such power.
To know that life and death on such a scale was my choice. To know
that the tiny pressure on my thumb, enough to break the glass,
would end everything. Yes. I would do it. That power would set me
up above the gods. And through the Daleks I shall have that power!"

If you think that even the daleks wouldn't destroy the universe ... think
again. This batshit insane guy is the wind beneath their wings. *

P.S. That little exchange was what actually hooked me on Doctor Who, way
back when. The original actor completely sold it - totally riveting.
The actor on the new series did just as well.

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.

Nice touch!
She'd recognized him in his earlier transmission with a shocked,
"It can't be... he's dead!"

After the impact of her shock, I realized Sarah didn't know that
Davros had returned in "Destiny of the Daleks," and sequels. A
perfect example of not giving too much of the old mythology in
the new episode.

It was supposed to be pseudo-HTML, suggesting an old man with a
hearing trumpet saying he can't "hear" you.

Didn't Martha, Jack & The Doctor use Jack's "vortex manipulator"
("Jack's teleporters") to travel from the end of the universe (Utopia)
to current day London (The Sound of Drums)?

I always wondered what would happen if the Daleks actually won and wiped
out everything else.

What would they do then?

Would they just motor about in circles chanting, "We rule!" for all
eternity? I mean, it's not like the Daleks actually *do* anything else.
They don't read or make music or lay out on the beach or anything.
Without anything to exterminate, it seems like they'd be pretty much
pointless.

Davros is not the only one who has craved the ability to destroy the universe.

Logopolis: The Master sabotages Logopolis, unaware that Logopolis keeps the Universe alive. The Universe begins to dissolve. The Master and the Doctor must join forces to channel new energy into the Universe, using a radio telescope on Earth. The Master then tries to seize the telescope with the idea of threatening to destroy the Universe (by shutting off the energy flow) in order to force the Universe to bow to him.

Logopolis: The Master sabotages Logopolis, unaware that Logopolis
keeps the Universe alive. The Universe begins to dissolve. The
Master and the Doctor must join forces to channel new energy into the
Universe, using a radio telescope on Earth.
Not going to happen! *All* the Radio Telescopes on Earth are designed to
receive energy from "out there", not to send energy out into The Universe!!
I once read a story in which a radio telescope was used to transmit messages. A professor on the Moon was using the telescope to send intelligence about Earth's operations on the Moon to the governments of the Outer Planets. There was a war over the Moon's resources between the Inner Planets and the Outer Planets. Plasma was used to drill a hole to the Moon's core to extract vital minerals. An Outer Planets warship was crippled by a plasma stream from the Moon. The warship was going to explode. But it could still move, so it flew to where a rescue ship (from the Inner Worlds) awaited. The inhabitants of the warship had to jump to the rescue ship WITHOUT SPACESUITS!

Afterwards, the warship was programmed to retreat to a safe distance before exploding. The dramatic rescue took the winds of the war mongers' sails, and all the governments got overthrown. Meanwhile, the first naked eye visible supernova in over 600 years was lighting up the Solar System. The author may have been Robert Heinlein.

Well, if we're talking SF .... In an episode of Thunderbirds, Alan had
to "break" into an illegal Radio Satellite to "save" the D.J., who was
not yet wearing a spacesuit!!

And, in HHGG, Ford and Arthur are ejected from the Vogon Space Ship into
open space, without Space Suits, ... and saved 29 secs later by Zaphod
Beeblebrox

As I've been saying, 19 out of 5.
The coolest thing about the concept of this episode is this little
exchange from the first time we ever saw Davros, back in "Genesis of the
Doctor: "Davros, if you had created a virus in your laboratory.
Davros doesn't specifically say that he would actually BREAK that glass!

Four stars.

I was a bit let down by the ending. What happened to Donna, exactly?
I missed part of it but got the gist that she somehow merged with
the Doctor's hand, but how did she survive getting zapped?

And yeah, SupperDonna's head will explode if she ever finds out how
great she is? Meh.

It reminded me of "The second half of part two of The Return of the
Bionic Woman on The Six Million Dollar Man" where they told Steve he
could never tell Jaime that she loved him because the associated memory
of the pain would kill her.

Of course the quack that told him that wanted her for himself anyway.

They forgot about the quack, but they kept the 'you can never tell her'
all the way up 'til the reunion movies decades later where she told
Steve she'd remembered for years, and it didn't hurt a bit. I wanted
him to hunt the quack down and kick some bionic ass.

To be honest, although I loved those shows as a kid during the initial
airing, by the time the TV movies came out, I had no interest in
watching it at all.

Obviously, Steve never suspected that the quack was a quack, so never dared test his assertion re Jaime! Hence the writers never had any reason to have Steve call the quack's bluff!

Davros was using nonlethal zaps (The Spare Doctor gets zapped as well,
and he's fine). Reasonable given that he seems to want an audience to
gloat over

Four stars.
I was a bit let down by the ending. What happened to Donna, exactly?
I missed part of it but got the gist that she somehow merged with
the Doctor's hand, but how did she survive getting zapped?
And yeah, SupperDonna's head will explode if she ever finds out how
great she is? Meh.
Is SupperDonna a really good cook?
Yes, but only of Donna Kebabs!!
Daniel
Is it tasty Daniel?

She probably won't even ask. We've all had days where we think, "Is it

How time flies..."

Chances are, she'll just assume it's an extreme version of that.

2-stars. It would be 1 star, if not for L&M and Gridlock - nothing
could be as bad as those.

Seriously the worst season ender yet, and not by a little bit. A
shame, because once again the show had a strong run with Silence in
the Library/Forrest of the Dead, Midnight, and Turn Left.

Sort of like last year, with Human Nature/The Family of Blood, Blink
and Utopia, which degenerated into The Sound of Drums and Last of the
Time Lords.

As I've been saying, 19 out of 5.
The coolest thing about the concept of this episode is this little
exchange from the first time we ever saw Davros, back in "Genesis of the
Doctor: "Davros, if you had created a virus in your laboratory.
Davros doesn't specifically say that he would actually BREAK that glass!
